MoonDog Pro EA MT5 V3.38 is an advanced automated trading system developed specifically for XAUUSD (Gold) on the MetaTrader 5 platform.

This Expert Advisor combines 9 independent breakout strategies, 2 locally executed ONNX models, intelligent trade filtering, and the MoonLock profit protection system.

Original Five Strategies

MoonDog incorporates two ONNX models that operate locally within MetaTrader 5.

These models are designed to filter selected trading opportunities and evaluate pending-order conditions.

Three Available ONNX Modes

Conservative 2x ONNX – Default

Uses ONNX filtering for trade entries and performs additional pending-order checks.

More Trades 2x ONNX

Maintains ONNX entry filtering without the conservative pending-order recheck.

Without ONNX

Allows the breakout strategies to operate without ONNX filtering.

ONNX models do not predict future prices or guarantee profitable trades.

MoonLock Profit Protection

MoonDog includes its own virtual profit-protection system called MoonLock.

The classic MoonLock mechanism tracks a trade’s highest eligible floating profit after activation.

Its standard objective is to protect 50% of the recorded peak floating profit.

When the configured protection threshold is triggered, MoonLock requests closure of the entire position.

Unlike partial take-profit systems, MoonLock does not automatically close only part of the trade.

Actual closing prices may differ because of market conditions, slippage, and broker execution.

Adaptive MoonLock Technology

Adaptive MoonLock provides different protection settings for individual strategies.

Instead of using identical activation and protection values across all trading modules, traders can apply strategy-specific settings.

This provides additional flexibility when managing different breakout approaches.

Adaptive MoonLock does not continuously retrain the EA during live trading.

Spike Shield Protection

MoonDog includes an optional Spike Shield feature designed to reduce certain premature trade exits during abnormal spread expansions.

The updated MoonLock system also improves the handling of:

Spike Shield cannot eliminate slippage or guarantee an exact closing price.

Stop Loss and Take Profit Management

Every MoonDog position has its own initial Stop Loss and Take Profit.

Default Trading Parameters

These parameters are adjustable.

The monetary value of a Gold pip depends on the broker’s contract specifications.

Flexible Money Management

MoonDog supports several position-sizing methods.

Fixed Lot Trading

Allows traders to use a predefined lot size.

Percentage-Based Risk

Calculates position size according to a selected planned risk percentage.

ONNX Score-Based Adaptive Sizing

An optional feature that adjusts trade volume using ONNX model scores.

This feature is not a Martingale or recovery mechanism.

It does not automatically increase lot size because the previous position lost money.

Important: Without loading an external configuration, the EA’s AUTO sizing uses 0.01 lot on live/demo charts but targets 2% planned risk per trade in the Strategy Tester.

Always review position sizing before live trading.

Risk applies to each individual trade. Multiple simultaneous positions can increase total account exposure.

Advanced Economic News Protection

MoonDog includes dedicated protection around major economic events.

The following filters are enabled by default:

• Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP)
• Consumer Price Index (CPI)
• Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC)

During confirmed protection windows, the EA pauses new entries and requests cancellation of its recognized pending orders.

Existing open positions are not automatically closed by this protection.

An optional general economic-news filter is also available.

Weekend Shield

Weekend Shield is enabled by default.

This feature is designed to restrict trading activity around configured weekend periods.

An optional wide-spread guard can also help restrict entries during unfavorable execution conditions.

No automated protection can guarantee that every pending order will be canceled before execution.

Interactive Trading Dashboard

MoonDog includes a built-in dashboard displaying important trading information.

The dashboard can show:

The full dashboard is hidden by default and can be opened when required.

Manual Chart Controls

MoonDog provides chart-based trading controls for recognized EA orders and positions.

• Request Closure of MoonDog Positions

The Resume function does not override news, weekend, or other safety restrictions.

Installation Guide
